I studied Chemistry at Bilkent University (Turkey) and earned my PhD degree in Physics at Computational Materials Science, University of Twente (the Netherlands). I worked as a FOM Young Energy Scientist Fellow initially at Theoretical Chemistry, Harvard University (USA) and later at Theoretical Chemistry, Leiden University (the Netherlands).

The broad aim of my research group at DIFFER, is the application of powerful computational methods and data science tools for the discovery of high-tech, energy conversion (photovoltaic and solar fuels) and energy storage (hydrogen and batteries) materials.

About CCER

The Center for Computational Energy Research  aims to explore pathways to future energy systems. This is done via computational simulations that complement experimental energy research. The center was founded in 2017 as the result of a joint initiative between the Department of Applied Physics of the Eindhoven University of Technology and NWO Institute DIFFER.
