Paola Diomede is in charge of the DIFFER Computational Plasma Physics and Chemistry group since 2015, when she was awarded a NWO-CSER grant. Her research focusses on low temperature plasmas for nuclear fusion, solar fuels and materials processing, through numerical modelling and simulations, with particular emphasis on models based on kinetic theory like Monte Carlo solution of transport equations for charged and neutral particles, hybrid models including chemical reactions and electric field generation, levels population distribution of molecules. She holds a PhD in plasma chemistry from the University of Bari, Italy and has been post-doctoral fellow at the University of Bari and post-doctoral fellow at the University of Houston. In 2014, she obtained the Italian associate professor habilitation in Technical Physics and Nuclear Engineering.
