PhD student

Maarten Boomstra received his Master’s degree in Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology, graduating on Molecular Dynamics simulations of a ThermoChemical Material (TCM). His current work focuses on enhancement of the thermal conductivity of paraffin waxes, which are Phase Change Materials (PCM), by addition of nanofillers. Within the larger WAX+ project he simulates on the atomistic scale, mainly with Molecular Dynamics.

About CCER

The Center for Computational Energy Research  aims to explore pathways to future energy systems. This is done via computational simulations that complement experimental energy research. The center was founded in 2017 as the result of a joint initiative between the Department of Applied Physics of the Eindhoven University of Technology and NWO Institute DIFFER.
