Abstract | In the Wax+ project, we aim to significantly improve the thermal conductivity (TC) of paraffin wax by addition of graphene nano-fillers. This way, the composite is made suitable for fast heat storage. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of pure paraffin showed the influence of branching and polydispersity on the TC. Preliminary results of the research into molecular weight segregation in composites will be discussed. Finally, the collaborations within the larger Wax+ project will be presented.

The CCER seminars are aimed at researchers interested in computational approaches to (energy) research. The seminar is small-scale, typically 15 participants, and interactive, offering lots of room for discussion. If you would like to attend, just This email address is being protected from spambots.
