PhD student

Sofia Apergi received her Master diploma in 2019, from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens in Greece. Her diploma thesis focused on the computational studies of materials for photovoltaic applications using density functional theory (DFT). She is currently working on the development of an approximate DFT method, Density Functional based Tight Binding (DFTB), for large scale simulation of perovskite solar cells.

About CCER

The Center for Computational Energy Research  aims to explore pathways to future energy systems. This is done via computational simulations that complement experimental energy research. The center was founded in 2017 as the result of a joint initiative between the Department of Applied Physics of the Eindhoven University of Technology and NWO Institute DIFFER.
