About this site
This site contains information for a variety of visitors. We would like to draw special attention to the Virtual Exhibition, where a number of the most interesting objects from our cd-rom series Egyptian Treasures in Europe is being presented. Professionals in the field of Egyptology will find the section of Egyptological Resources particularly interesting. That section contains for example the multilingual egyptological thesaurus (now in 7 languages).
Try the index on all released volumes of the series Egyptian Treasures in Europe. Search for the standardized translation of items and terms in the seven languages of the Multilingual Egyptological Thesaurus. Find names and addresses of colleagues in the CCER list of Egyptologists.
The Global Egyptian Museum (GEM), initiated by CCER in 2003, currently showcases 10,772 artefacts from twelve European museums. They are dealt with in detail in the gallery.
The GEM is supported by the International Committee for Egyptology (CIPEG) of the
International Council of Museums (ICOM-UNESCO) and is hosted by the Center for
Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT - Cairo), research
centre of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
CIPEG invites all public and
private collections to participate in this long-term project. You are kindly invited for a free visit to the virtual museum.
For children at the age of 8-12 years a special corner "Kids!" is available.
The address is www.GlobalEgyptianMuseum.org.
If you have any comments on the website or other matters concerning our products, please do not hesitate to notify us by e-mail (ccer@ccer.nl).
