IMPORTANT NOTICE: This database is based on the sheet-archive of the Wörterbuch der Ägyptischen Sprache (Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften). The WB archive was closed in 1924, which means that all references and information attached to the names date from before that year. It should also be noted that the transcription and the arrangement of the names is not fully identical with Ranke PN. It is therefore highly recommended to check all the data obtained from this database with recent publications.

How to perform a simple search (for a single words):

• Type the Egyptian word in transcription in the field name. The use of the wildcard "*" is permitted (f.i. ipj* will result in all words starting with ipj to be listed.
• Press the start search button to start the search. The avarage search takes no more than 10 seconds to process, but depending on the speed of the network connection it may take some more time before you get the results.
  Do not repeatedly press the "start search" button if you don't get an immediate answer. This will only make it last even longer, as the search program will repeat the search the exact amount of times you pressed the button before it gives any results.
